BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - In a story Sept. 21, The Associated Press reported that new laws allowing same-sex marriage in Washington and Maryland might be subject to referendums. Recently-approved gay marriage laws in those states are the subject of referendums on the November ballot. Voters will decide whether the gay marriage laws ultimately take effect in Washington and Maryland.
