City Street Crews Plowing Arterials, Sanding & Deicing, As Needed

City Of Spokane Press Release:

SPOKANE, Wash. - With light snow falling throughout the City, Street Department crews are plowing, and spreading deicer and sand, as needed. Crews currently are focusing on arterials streets, and hills to get them cleaned off before any additional snow falls.

Most snow is on the upper South Hill and far North Side. Streets are mostly wet and slushy in the lower areas and downtown. Street officials will continue to monitor snow fall and call in additional personnel as needed to effectively respond.

The City's snow removal activities are designed to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians, ensure emergency responders can reach citizens, and enhance movement for pedestrians, motorists and economic activity.

As always, we ask motorists to slow down and drive according to conditions when the snow falls.

Information on the City's snow removal efforts is available on the City's website at www.spokanecity.org.  Citizens also can stay up to date on snow removal by following the City on Facebook at www.facebook.com/cityspokane or on Twitter at www.twitter.com/SpokaneCity.
