Chicago Tribune to resume limited use of Journatic

CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Tribune has announced it will resume limited use of Journatic five months after the newspaper suspended use of the local news provider for plagiarism and fabricated material.

The Tribune reported Thursday (http://trib.in/RFqeXp) that it would use Journatic "on a limited basis for such information as community listings." Tribune executives said the newspaper would not use Journatic as a source of reported news stories. The newspaper says it will maintain full editorial responsibility for news content.

Journatic CEO Brian Timpone says the Chicago-based company has "carefully examined" its operations to make sure it delivers content with the "highest standards" of journalism.

Chicago Tribune Media Group President Vince Casanova says there were problems with the way Journatic was executed but now it will be "back on track."
