OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Don't feed the bears. The Washington Fish and Wildlife says a new law that took effect in June prohibits intentionally feeding bears and other wild carnivores or leaving out food or garbage that attracts them. Violators could be fined up to $1,000. The agency says people should secure garbage cans in areas where bears have been reported. People also should remove bird feeders and keep pet food inside.(Copyright 2012 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
