Caught On Surveillance: Downtown Spokane Bar Burglarized

SPOKANE, Wash. - Downtown Spokane is going through what some may call an epidemic. Many businesses are starting to lose business and profit due to the expanding population of teenagers that hang out down around Wall Street.

Local business owner Chris Cope recently had his business broken into and the perpetrators attempted to make way with quite a bit of his materials. Chris Cope is the General Manager of the local Spokane bar called The Vault.

The teenagers broke through the glass window in front of his bar and grabbed a lot of his property, mainly alcohol, and than made an attempt at an escape minutes later. Chris and a co-worker showed up minutes later and saw the door broken and the suspects out on the street. They were able to detain them until the police arrived and took them into custody.

KHQ Local News Reporter Dylan Wohlenhaus spoke to Chris who had this to say, "We've seen these kids outside causing trouble. A lot of people are afraid to walk by them, they're you know, running a muck. I think people in Spokane are really getting tired of it."

The vault is going through an ownership transition and will be closed until next month.
