Car Hits Pedestrian On Spokane's South Hill

SPOKANE, Wash. - Emergency crews responded to the intersection of 29th & Regal Tuesday afternoon after a person was hit by a car.

Police say an adult woman was crossing 29th at Regal and failed to stop at the "do not cross" signal because she was afraid she would miss her bus. While crossing the street she was hit by a car heading westbound on 29th.

After hitting the woman, the driver stopped, called 911 and tended to the woman until paramedics arrived. The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries to her legs.

Witnesses on scene told police the pedestrian was at fault and no citations are expected.

The intersection is back to normal traffic operations.
