Barn Fire In Otis Orchards

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Spokane Valley Firefighters are responded to a barn fire in Otis Orchards on E. Trent Saturday morning.

Officials on scene say a man was fueling up a tractor inside a barn at Wheeler's Farm Market when the gas began to overflow. The man unplugged to 12 volt gas pump quickly, which caused a spark and ignited the gas. The tractor became engulfed and the flames spread to the ceiling of the barn.

Firefighters arrived and promptly extinguished the fire. The tractor was destroyed and the barn sustained some damage.

The scene at the barn also triggered a two-car collision on E. Trent. One car hit another while looking at the fire and they both went off the road. No injuries have been reported from that crash.
