Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods: We're dating

By Liz Raftery,

Lindsey Vonn may have suffered a professional setback last month when she was seriously injured after crashing on the ski slopes in Austria, but she has something to smile about in her personal life — a new relationship with golfer Tiger Woods.

The two athletes confirmed the much-speculated-about romance on Monday.

"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods," Vonn said in a statement on her Facebook page Monday. "Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support!"

Woods reportedly sent his private jet to fly Vonn home to Vail, Colo. after her accident in February.

The golfer released a separate statement via his own Facebook page, saying: "Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."

The biggest celebrity cheating scandals

Vonn divorced her husband of four years, Thomas, in November 2011. Woods and his wife, Elin Nordegren, divorced in 2010 after a sex scandal the previous year revealed that he had cheated on her with dozens of women. Woods subsequently left the PGA tour to enter rehab.

Do you think Woods and Vonn make a good couple? And do you think Woods has changed his ways?
