Lindsay Lohan may reject plea deal, go to trial

Prosecutors have offered Lindsay Lohan a plea deal that would involve 90 days of house arrest in her probation violation/lying to police case — but TMZ reports the actress plans to reject the offer, which would send the case to trial.

The initial plea deal would have sent Lohan to rehab, but prosecutors reduced that to 90 days of house arrest. Her lawyer is trying to get the three-month period reduced even further; however, sources close to Lohan tell TMZ she refuses to accept any punishment and would rather go to trial. (TMZ speculates there is a "75 percent" chance the case will in fact go to trial later this month.)

The problem with that? If Lohan goes to trial and is convicted, it's very likely she could be sentenced to months in prison.

Lohan is charged with lying to police after she said she wasn't behind the wheel of her Porsche when the car crashed on the Pacific Coast Highway in June 2012.
