Katherine Jackson told Los Angeles police Sunday that she is "fine and with a family member" a day after she was reported missing, TMZ reports.

Her nephew, Trent, filed the report Saturday with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office, CNN reports. However, her son Jermaine took to Twitter soon after to say she was fine and resting in Arizona.

"I want to reassure everyone (including all sudden medical experts) that mother is fine but is resting up in AZ on the orders of a doctor, not us," he tweeted Saturday afternoon. "This is our mother and her health is paramount. We are not inventing or plotting anything. We are following doctor's advice. Period."

Questions over Katherine's whereabouts come days after the release of a letter signed by five of her children -- Rebbie, Janet, Jermaine, Randy and Tito -- that claimed the 82-year-old was being mistreated by the executors of Michael Jackson's estate and misadvised by her manager and lawyer.

Katherine's lawyer, Sandra Ribera, said that Katherine left her California home on July 15 to fly to New Mexico to attend a Jackson Brothers concert with eldest daughter Rebbie. However, when Paris Jackson, Michael Jackson's 14-year-old daughter, tried calling both Rebbie and Janet to talk to her grandmother, she was told repeatedly that she could not speak to her. "Yes, my grandmother is missing," Paris then tweeted Sunday morning. "I haven't spoken with her in a week. I want her home now." Paris also tweeted the phone number of her bodyguard and asked anyone who had seen her grandmother to call.

Paris Jackson says she was "really confused" about why Michael made her wear a mask

Paris Jackson and her brothers, Michael Jackson Jr. and Prince Jackson, have lived with Katherine ever since their father's death three years ago.

"I'm concerned that she's not safe," Ribera said, noting that Jackson "has never gone 24 hours without talking to her kids."

Ribera said that the sheriff's homicide-missing persons unit has been asked to investigate. "I'm concerned that she would never do this," she said. "We have no idea what's going on with her. No one has talked to her."

According to TMZ, authorities are now investigating why the missing person's report was filed at all.
