Seven-year-old Millie Flamm got the shock of her life Saturday, when teen heartthrob Justin Bieber showed up in her hospital room before a show in Salt Lake City.

Flamm, who has battled leukemia for three years, was planning on attending the concert, but was forced to sell her tickets after she suffered a setback related to her illness two weeks ago, according to The Deseret News. When it became apparent that she wouldn't be able to see Bieber live, her friends and family started an online campaign to try and get her to meet the singer. Even as late as Saturday morning, according to the paper, the Flamms weren't sure if their efforts would be successful -- but then they got a surprise visit.

Returning Shows: Where we left off

"We were able to do a really intimate little meeting with just her and us and Justin and it was incredible and he was so sweet to her," Flamm's mother, Amanda, told the News. "He walked in and her whole face just lit up, and she turned around and hugged her dad, and then he ran over and came next to her and gave her a big hug."

Bieber sang a song to Flamm, posed for pictures with her, and gave her his guitar pick and a kiss on the cheek before leaving, the News reports.

"You are never going to wash my face again," Millie told her mom.

Winter TV Preview: Must-watch new shows

After the visit, Bieber tweeted a photo of himself and Millie, with the caption, "Look at this bundle of joy.. I love her."

It was a welcome bit of good publicity for the pop sensation. Last week alone, a paparazzo was killed while photographing Bieber's car, and on Friday, TMZ published photos of Bieber smoking what appeared to be marijuana in his dressing room.
