Ex-Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash sued by fourth accuser

By Kate Stanhope,

Kevin Clash, the longtime voice of Elmo who stepped down last month, has been sued by a fourth accuser who alleges that while he was a minor he also had a sexual relationship with the Sesame Street puppeteer, TMZ reports.

The accuser filed the suit in federal court in New York under the name "John Doe" and claims he first met Clash in 1995 or 1996 in Miami Beach, when Doe was 16 or 17 and Clash was in his mid-30s.

According to Doe, Clash flew him out of New York City and gave him money and a place to stay. During this trip, the two allegedly had sex multiple times. Doe's lawyer, Jeff Herman, told TMZ, "According to our lawsuit, Kevin Clash knowingly paid to transport a minor across state lines for the purpose of satisfying his sexual interests."

Since then, Doe claims in his suit that he's suffered emotional, mental and psychological damage as a result of his relationship with Clash.

This is the fourth lawsuit against Clash, who resigned from Sesame Street on Nov. 20. However, the first accuser later struck a settlement with Clash and agreed not to pursue litigation.
