The 19-year-old and another Hamilton College student, 21-year-old Ian S. Grant, were facing misdemeanor charges after authorities found heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her dorm room on Wednesday when Bongiovi overdosed on heroin. But the charges were dropped Thursday because of a "Good Samaritan" provision which exempts people from possession charges if they were seeking help for somebody experiencing a "drug or alcohol overdose or other life-threatening medical emergency."
Grant called for help when Bongiovi appeared to suffer a possible overdose. Bongiovi, the rocker's eldest child and only daughter, was subsequently hospitalized early Wednesday. Her condition was unknown.
