Dancing's Brooke Burke-Charvet: I have thyroid cancer

By Natalie Abrams,

Brooke Burke-Charvet revealed Thursday that she has been diagnosed with a cancerous nodule on her thyroid and will have to get surgery to have it removed.

In the video, the Dancing with the Stars host explained that she went through tests to determine whether the nodule was cancerous and the results "were not good."

"I need to have thyroid surgery and a thyroidectomy, which means I'm going to have a nice big scar right here across my neck," the 41-year-old revealed in a video on the  Modern Mom YouTube channel. "I don't get to just walk around and pretend like nothing happened or not follow up or not share it, because it's going to be pretty much dead center. I don't want anybody to read about it and get the wrong idea, or think that I'm sick, because I'm not."
