Cheers star George Wendt hospitalized

Cheers actor George Wendt has been hospitalized, the director of his upcoming play at Chicago's Northlight Theatre tells the Sun-Times

"George is family to us at Northlight and we wish him well for a complete and speedy recovery. He will be missed in the rehearsal room and on stage," Odd Couple director BJ Jones said.

Wendt, 64, reportedly checked into the local hospital on Sunday after complaining of chest pains and is expected to make a full recovery. He was cast in the role of Oscar Madison in the production, but will be replaced.
