Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik officially files for divorce

By Natalie Abrams,

Mayim Bialik officially filed for divorce from her husband of nine years the same day she made the announcement on her blog, according to the Associated Press.

The Big Bang Theory star cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for divorcing husband Michael Stone. In the documents, filed on Nov. 21 in Los Angeles, she also asked for joint custody of their two children Miles, 7, and Fred, 4.

"Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children," The 36-year-old former Blossom star initially wrote on her blog. "The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible. Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that's what we are focusing on. Our privacy has always been important and is even more so now, and we thank you in advance for respecting it as we negotiate this new terrain."

Bialik, who wed Stone in 2003, ended her blog post by saying, "We will be OK."
