One of the most controversial Bachelor pairings has come to an end.

Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson have called off their engagement, People reports.

The Bachelor's terrible track record: A history of failed romances

Ben proposed to Courtney, who was considered the villain, in the finale of their season. "I promised myself I wouldn't get down on one knee unless I was certain it was forever, and I want to tell you that you are my forever," Ben said before dropping to one knee and popping the big question.

The Bachelor: Where are they now?

The couple split for a while as the show aired, but they reunited before their season's After the Final Rose special and were going strong until the split.

For what it's worth, 49 percent of voters TVGuide.com users wanted Ben to choose other Bachelor finalist Lindzi.
