Amanda Bynes ordered not to drive by judge

By Kate Stanhope,

It sounds like Amanda Bynes is going to need a lift.

The 26-year-old actress was ordered by L.A. Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel not to drive without a valid driver's license, E! News reports.

The judge's request came Thursday, four days after Bynes was pulled over by police for driving at night without her headlights on. The officers did not ask for her driver's license, but footage of her being pulled over surfaced on the Internet soon after. A judge confirmed Thursday in court that Bynes' license had been suspended, despite what her lawyer, Bob Wilson, initially claimed otherwise.

"We haven't completed her DMV hearing so she couldn't have lost her license on that," he reportedly told the judge. However, after the hearing, he told E! that the D.A. informed him that her license does come up as suspended. It is believed that Bynes' license was suspended because she refused to take a Breathalyzer test in April when she was pulled over by police after hitting a cop car. Police suspected she was under the influence. Refusing to take a Breathalyzer can warrant an automatic suspension.

Since then, Bynes has been charged with two hit-and-runs, one for the April incident and also for a second alleged accident in August. Bynes was not in court Thursday, but her next hearing is set for Sept. 21, and will address conditions of her freedom and bail, according to E! News.

On Sept. 27, Bynes will be arraigned on the hit-and-run charges, which each carry a maximum sentence of six months in jail and/or $1,000 fine.
