DOHA, Qatar (AP) - Qatar's state-backed natural gas producer says it has signed a long-term supply deal with Thailand's national energy company. It's part of the Gulf nation's expanding reach into Asia.
The 20-year deal by Qatargas follows other significant agreements with Asian countries this year, including Japan and Malaysia.
Wednesday's statement said the deal with Thailand's PTT begins in 2015 for 2 million tons per year of liquid natural gas. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Qatargas delivered its first LNG shipment to Thailand in 2011. Later it made other spot sales to PTT.
