WE'VE GOT THE HEAT: A hot, dry weekend is making farmers and investors worried that the summer, which officially starts Wednesday, will bring more of the same. Prices for soybeans and wheat shot up more than 3 percent.
CORN POPS: The price of corn rose even more, by 5.5 percent. Some buyers are rushing to get in their orders because they're worried there won't be enough supply later in the year.
THE COPPER QUIRK: While most metals fell, the price of copper rose more than 1 percent, helped by reports that American builders are breaking ground on more homes than they have in more than three years.
