Who: Coeur de Breizh Gourment French Crepes What: If you think a crepe is just a sweet breakfast food, you haven’t been out to Coeur de Breizh. This food truck parked at the corner of Government Way and Seale Street wants to show you just how sweet or savory a crepe can be! Looking for a treat to start your day or complete your lunch? Try the L’Americaine, with cinnamon, sugar, and butter, or La Beige with chocolate, banana, and toasted almonds. Looking for something a little nuttier? Give La Pommepadour a try! This tasty concoction includes organic apples, spices, whipped cream, toasted almonds or walnuts. But as every crepe connoisseur knows, they can be just as delicious savory as they are sweet. Around breakfast time give La Savoyarde a try, with its eggs and Swiss cheese. When lunch time rolls around give La Cordon Bleu, full of broasted chicken breast, bacon, and Swiss cheese, a taste. And if you come to the truck on Wednesday around dinner time you can get La Polonaise, with Polish sausage, Pepperjack cheese, organic spring mix, and Dijon mustard. Gluten free versions are available for any crepe, whether savory or sweet, so if you’re cutting out the gluten you don’t have to give up the crepes! When: Coeur de Breizh is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7am until 2pm. They are also open on Wednesdays from 7am until 7pm and on Saturdays from 9am until 2pm. Who: Soul A Soup and Coffee House What: Like coffee? REALLY like coffee? Cause Soul has locally roasted, organic, rainforest-certified coffee as well as true Italian-style espresso. They love coffee, and they want you to love it too, so they only provide the best. Don’t you want the best? And don’t you want to drink it in a warm, welcoming atmosphere with mismatched tables and wood floors, surrounded by friendly conversations and the scent of coffee in the air? Of course a ‘soup and coffee house’ has to offer more than just great coffee to stand up to its name, so Soul ALSO offers delicious soup options like Chicken Lime Tortilla, Spicy Korean Beef, Mushroom Bisque, and Ginger Chicken Noodle. Soups change daily so it is worth it to go back over and over and over again. There is always at least one vegetarian option, often also a paleo option, and you can keep up with all of their daily options on their Facebook page. Everything is made from scratch, most is very unique, and some of it is totally surprising. More in the mood for salad than soup (though with winter coming why would you forgo tasty warm delicious soup)? They’ve got that covered as well, with daily offerings such as Avocado Cucumber, Quinoa and Kale, Greek Pasta Salad, or Roasted Beets and Feta. And if baked goods are more up your alley, they can help you out with that, with a daily selection of fresh made oatmeal raisin cookies, low-fat lemon muffins, banana bread with chocolate chips, and paleo (gluten-free) bars. When: Soul is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am until 4pm. Where: 610 W Hubbard St, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho 83814 Find them online at their Facebook page!
