Who: Coeur d’Alene Cellars and Barrel Room No 6 What: It’s like this – Coeur d’Alene Cellars makes wine. They’re a winery. That’s kind of their thing. But just making great Rhone varietal wines isn’t enough. Being awarded “90 pts” by Wine Enthusiast Magazine in 2005 for their first release wasn’t enough. Earning a Double Gold in the International Eastern Wine Competition in New York and a Best of Show at The Idaho Wine Festival in Boise was still not enough. Because Coeur d’Alene Cellars doesn’t just want to make and sell you wine. They want you to love wine as much as they do. That’s why they have a wine club  where members can receive three to six bottles a quarter of carefully selected red and white wines, as well as discounts on even more bottles, tours of the winery, and private tasting sessions. And that’s why they have Barrel Room No 6, a “swanky” wine bar where you can try out they’re wines, paired with appetizers and light snacks, as well as listen to live music on Saturday nights. The staff know which wines work best with each food item on the menu and will happily impart their knowledge to you if you just ask. When: Coeur d’Alene Cellars tasting room hours are Tuesday thru Thursday from 12pm until 7pm and Friday thru Saturday from 12pm until 8pm. Who: The Boiler Room Craft Pizza and Swill What: When is a pizza more than just a pizza? When it’s a wood-fired craft pizza made with local ingredients from local farmers, just like what you can find at The Boiler Room. This northside Spokane pizza joint, decorated in an industrial, modern-style, isn’t just tossing some pepperoni on a cheesy crust and calling it good. Instead they’re offering up flavor explosions such as the Spicy Islander (San Marzano tomato sauce, shaved Prosciutto, house cheese blend, pineapple, and serranos) and the Thai Me Up (peanut ginger sauce, chicken breast, house cheese blend, red bell peppers, serrano peppers, fresh basil, cilantro, toasted sesame seeds, and Sriracha). And if pepperoni really is your thing, they’ve got their own spin on that, which includes San Marzano tomato sauce, double pepperoni, and house cheese blend. If you’re going to have great pizza you’ll want to pair it with great drink, whether that is one of the rotating beers on tap, a favorite spirit, a red or white wine, a Blood Orange Bellini or a Peach Ginger mojito. Happy Hour specials take place Monday through Friday from 2-5pm and on Sunday from 5pm to close. When: The Boiler Room is open daily from 11am until late. Who: Coeur de Breizh Gourment French Crepes What: If you think a crepe is just a sweet breakfast food, you haven’t been out to Coeur de Breizh. This food truck parked at the corner of Government Way and Seale Street wants to show you just how sweet or savory a crepe can be! Looking for a treat to start your day or complete your lunch? Try the L’Americaine, with cinnamon, sugar, and butter, or La Beige with chocolate, banana, and toasted almonds. Looking for something a little nuttier? Give La Pommepadour a try! This tasty concoction includes organic apples, spices, whipped cream, toasted almonds or walnuts. But as every crepe connoisseur knows, they can be just as delicious savory as they are sweet. Around breakfast time give La Savoyarde a try, with its eggs and Swiss cheese. When lunch time rolls around give La Cordon Bleu, full of broasted chicken breast, bacon, and Swiss cheese, a taste. And if you come to the truck on Wednesday around dinner time you can get La Polonaise, with Polish sausage, Pepperjack cheese, organic spring mix, and Dijon mustard. Gluten free versions are available for any crepe, whether savory or sweet, so if you’re cutting out the gluten you don’t have to give up the crepes! When: Coeur de Breizh is open Monday thru Thursday from 7am until 2pm. They are also open on Fridays from 7am until 7pm and on Saturdays from 9am until 2pm.
