Taylor Swift Mum On 'Glee'-ful Date

(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - "Fearless" songstress Taylor Swift and "Glee" actor Cory Monteith looked like they had the beginnings of a beautiful friendship when they were spotted bowling together in Los Angeles this week.

According to the Daily Mail , the 20-year-old country superstar was seen hugging the Canadian-born teen heart-throb, 27, after enjoying a night of bowling at the popular Pinz hangout in Studio City.

But the "Glee" star didn't kiss and tell when he was asked about the budding romance in a recent interview: "Ah, I'm not gonna answer that."

And Swift has also reportedly been keeping their relationship under wraps, since her mother Andrea – who is also her manager – wants the Grammy-winner to focus on her music rather than boys.

Adding further fuel to the fire, the pair arrived and left separately, keeping their date incognito.

A source told the Mail, "Andrea, who has a firm grip on her daughter's career and personal life, thinks Taylor has worked far too hard to let everything go to the wall for the sake of a boy."

Swift was previously romantically linked to "Twilight" hunk Taylor Lautner – her "Valentine's Day" co-star – until they split, after dating for two months, in December.

She was first seen canoodling with Monteith – who shot to fame as the singing jock Finn on the hit musical TV show "Glee" - at the Grammy Awards in January.

According to the National Enquirer , Swift took him as her date to a pre-Grammy party and has also hung out with him at Jerry's Famous Deli in L.A.

But one of Swift's friends said, "Taylor is actually pretending not to be interested in Cory so her mother doesn't scare him off."

According to MTV.com , at the very least, Swift's latest love interest will likely provide her with new material for her third album, with its first single set for release in late summer or early fall.

After all, she penned her "Forever & Always" song after her former beau Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers.
